Our Work

The Democratic Futures Collaborative

New Visions built the Democratic Futures Collaborative to bridge two worlds that rarely meet: the foresight and futures sector, and civil society activists working on democratic change. Over 18 months, working with actors across movements and institutions in Lebanon and Tunisia, we developed and tested a collaborative visioning model that brings foresight tools into civil society practice, disrupting short-term thinking and building the capacity to imagine and plan for long-term democratic futures rooted in justice and equity. The goal is a replicable methodology that any organization working on democratic transformation can adapt and use.

Feminist Futures in the Arab World

What does a just democratic future look like when feminist imagination drives the analysis? That is the question at the heart of New Visions’ current research initiative on feminist futures in the Arab world. The research brings together futures thinking and feminist scholarship in a region where the two have rarely been in conversation, producing an academic paper and a series of shorter essays, and laying the intellectual groundwork for a question that still needs to be explored.
